All aboard for Jesus!

SBC Bus Ministry

Here at Sparlingville Baptist Church, we place a strong emphasis on reaching our community for Christ. One such way that we do this is through our Bus Ministry. Below you will find some information regarding the Bus Ministry.

What is the mission of the Bus Ministry?

Our mission is to fulfill the Great Commission by reaching those who would not otherwise be able to be in church. We aim to extend the church’s ministry into areas that may have been neglected.

What is the purpose of the Bus Ministry?

The purpose of the Bus Ministry is to fulfill God’s command to “go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that My House may be filled.” (Luke 14:23). Therefore, we seek opportunities to bring people to Christ, by providing a safe method of transportation for those who would otherwise be unable to attend services. We envision ourselves to be an extension of God’s love, by bringing men, women and children to the Lord that they may know and serve Him.

When do the buses run?

Our buses run on Sunday mornings, Sunday evenings, and Wednesday evenings, both to and from church. Our Sunday morning pick-ups range from 9 AM to 9:45 AM and arrive at the church just before 10 AM, which is when our Sunday School classes begin. Our Sunday evening pick-ups range from 5 PM to 5:45 PM and arrive at the church just before 6:00 PM, when our evening service starts.

On Wednesday evenings, pick-ups range from 6 PM to 6:45 PM and arrive at the church just before 7 PM, when our Wednesday Bible Study begins.

Who is allowed to ride the buses to church?

On a typical Sunday or Wednesday, our buses are filled with fun, loving, and energetic boys and girls. We do, however, strongly encourage their families to ride with them. While it is generally children who ride our buses, we invite anyone and everyone who needs transportation to and from the Lord's house.

What can I expect if I ride the bus to church?

Our bus will pick you up in time for service, which begins at 10 AM on Sunday mornings, 6 PM on Sunday evenings, and 7 PM on Wednesdays. We have workers who will transport you safely from the door of your home onto the bus. When we arrive at church, one of our workers on the bus will show you to your class.

Our church offers a graded Sunday School program, so children will attend a Sunday School class and Children’s Church with other children their age. Sunday school classes range from Pre-K through High School for children, with options available for adults as well.

In Sunday school, a well-trained teacher will teach a lesson from the Bible. After Sunday school, children Pre-K through Middle School will attend Children’s Church, which offers a variety of Bible teaching, games, and singing. Any teenagers and/or adults who ride the bus will join us in our regular church service. On Wednesdays, we have a separate service from the adult class for all children and teens.

After church, you will be escorted back to the bus to safely bring you home.

Who do I contact if I want to ride the bus?
